Skoda presented its new Enyaq iVSeptember 1, 2020
Just a few minutes ago, the online presentation of the new electric car ended.
Today the official presentation of the first electric car of the Skoda brand – Enyaq iV took place. After a long introduction, the public was finally shown the novelty. It should be noted right away that all the technical data published earlier have been confirmed. The car is built on the same platform as the Volkswagen ID.4, which will be shown on 23 September.
The appearance of the novelty resembles the Kodiaq and Karoq crossovers already in the manufacturer’s lineup. An interesting solution is the illuminated radiator grille, the vertical sections of which are made of glass. According to a Skoda representative, the Enyaq iV salon is made in the best traditions of the company – spacious, comfortable and thought out to the smallest detail. Inside the car, you can find wireless charging for gadgets, an abundance of USB ports, a modern multimedia system with a large screen and Laura voice assistant, as well as a head-up display with support for augmented reality technology.
The crossover will be available in three versions. The easiest one will receive one electric motor on the rear axle and a battery, which will last for 340 kilometers. In this case, the glass radiator grill will be inaccessible. The average configuration will receive a more capacious battery, from one charge of which the car can travel up to 390 kilometers, as well as an all-wheel drive version. The maximum Skoda Enyaq iV80 will be able to travel from one charge to 510 kilometers.
In addition, the novelty will receive five variants of power plants with a return of 146, 177, 201, 261 and 302 hp. The most powerful will be the RS version of the crossover, which can accelerate from standstill to 100 km / h in 6.2 seconds and will have a top speed of 180 km / h. It is reported that in order to achieve the maximum cruising range, the engineers carefully “blown” the model in a wind tunnel, which made it possible to achieve a drag coefficient of 0.27.
The battery of the new Enyaq iV can be charged with a 125-watt charging station and with an 11-watt home charging station. In the first case, the battery of the largest capacity can be charged from 5 to 80% in 38 minutes. A household charger can fully recharge a car’s charge in 6 to 8 hours, depending on the capacity of the battery.
In early 2021, a limited version of the Skoda Enyaq iV Founders Edition will appear on the market, which will be limited to 1,895 copies – in honor of the year the brand was founded. These cars will feature 22-inch rims and some body parts. It should be noted that already in the basic configuration, the crossovers will be equipped with LED optics and taillights, matrix head light will be available for an additional fee. Orders for the new Skoda Enyaq iV are already being accepted.
