Skoda prepares rival Renault Duster for saleOctober 28, 2020
The new crossover Skoda Kliq 2021 left on public roads in a completely finished form – will soon go on sale
The Skoda Vision IN crossover debuted in concept status earlier this year. At the same time, the sales start date was announced – 2021. In view of the imminent market premiere, the manufacturer wasted no time, it is for this reason that a newest car mule under the guise of Kamiq began to appear more and more on the roads. Now the production model Skoda Kliq has been captured for the first time in its “native” body.
Judging by the photos published by Team-BHP, the car completely repeats the concept. The only difference is the bumpers, which have become a little easier. It is also worth noting the familiar door handles (they were hidden in the prototype).
It is not yet clear what the dimensions of the production model will be. But the dimensions of the concept are known: length – 4256 mm, wheelbase – 2671 mm. Note that the new crossover is based on the MQB-A0-IN bogie, designed specifically for the emerging markets. Many subsequent Skoda models will be based on it.
There is no information on the motor range yet. Tentatively, it will include a petrol 1.5-liter turbocharged four, producing 150 hp, mated to a robotic gearbox. In addition, the Skoda Click 2021 crossover is promised another engine – a 1.0-liter turbocharged three, paired with a manual transmission. The drive is exclusively front-wheel drive.
The production of a new serial crossover Skoda Kliq will be established at the manufacturer’s plant in India. Among the competitors of the new car are Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos and Renault Duster. What will be the cost of new items, the manufacturer is still silent.
