Skoda Octavia will receive a long wheelbase versionJanuary 23, 2021
In China, the appearance of a long-wheelbase version of the Skoda Octavia is expected, which will receive the Pro prefix to the name. This is evidenced by the pictures of the novelty published in the database of the PRC certification department.
The Octavia Pro, of course, has acquired a wheelbase extended by 44 mm – from 2686 to 2730 mm. The whole increase, as usual, fell on the distance between the first and second rows of seats. In turn, the Pro-variations became longer up to 4753 mm against 4689 mm in the model in the liftback body.
Along with this, the Chinese Octavia differs from the Russian version in the design of the front part: its bumper is practically the same as that of the “charged” RS modification, but without integrated navigation lights. The taillights also received different graphics. There are currently no pictures of the interior, however, differences from the European car are expected there.
The main one in the Chinese market will be a combination of a 150-horsepower 1.4-liter TSI turbo engine and a 7-band DSG robotic transmission. There are no other details about the new product at the moment. The production of the Octavia Pro will be established at the SAIC VW joint venture, and sales of the new model should start closer to summer.
It is worth saying that the Skoda Octavia is a C-sized car, the production of which started in 1996.
In addition, some time ago it was noted that the Czech automaker Skoda will release a new crossover Kushaq. It should be emphasized that the main competitors of the new product will be the Hyundai Creta and KIA Seltos crossovers.
