Skoda must release the RS version of the Kamiq crossoverFebruary 28, 2019
In the past, despite the more modest sales and size, the company Skoda produced a lot of “charged” models with the RS index. And we believe that she should continue to do so.
This is a bit strange, but we are already discussing cars for the 2020 model year, although we recently celebrated 2010. At that time, the Skoda company was much more modest in scope, sales and model lines. And many will remember such models as the Skoda Octavia RS (still preserved), as well as the wagon and Skoda Fabia RS hatchback.
To date, Skoda is focused on more affordable and practical models, and the RS index has already been preserved as a tribute to tradition. It makes no sense to release a “charged” Fabia, the Volkswagen Polo has completely occupied a niche and is technically superior to the Czech counterpart. But recently the company introduced the new Skoda Kamiq crossover, but it has all the chances of popularity in the RS version.
Powerful and sporty crossovers are now at their peak of popularity, and it is likely that the Kamiq RS will become very profitable. We see the trend by the fact that VW itself has already released three similar models: Audi SQ2, Cupra Ateca and VW T-Roc R.
Skoda should release a more modest version, but still, at least a 2.0-liter turbo engine capable of developing about 200 horsepower should be installed under the bonnet. Unfortunately, there is no official information about Kamiq RS yet.
