Skoda Kosmiq: Czechs reserved a new name for the crossoverNovember 16, 2018
Crossovers again! The Czech brand Skoda, part of the concern group VAG, is preparing to release another crossover. This is clearly indicated by the new patented name Kosmiq.
A new entry has appeared in the patent office, informing Skoda of the registration of a new name for its models – Kosmiq. So far, the manufacturer did not tell which model the new name will belong to, but experts are confident that this will be a crossover. At least, another crossover is expected to be comparable in size to the Volkswagen T-Cross, and in addition, the new name fits perfectly into the existing line of crossovers: Kosmiq, Kamiq, Karoq, Kodiaq.
Another assumption is that the model will become the serial embodiment of the conceptual model Skoda Vision X, presented in the spring. The debut of the model can take place in the spring of 2019 as part of the Geneva Motor Show. In the same year, it is expected to enter the market. Presumably the car will be built on a modified platform from the Volkswagen MQB A0. Under the hood there will be a modern line of engines from the concern with a working volume from 1.0 to 1.6 liters.
The drive will be exclusively front. The appearance of the Škoda Cosmic can be made in the same style with the Skoda Karoq and the Vision X concept mentioned above, as well as the interior design.
Meanwhile, the Skoda Kodiaq GT went on sale immediately after its debut in Guangzhou. Coupe-shaped cross Skoda Kodiaq GT was more expensive than the standard Kodiaq.
