Skoda Kodiaq RS: the first teaser of the charged SUVJune 11, 2018
Apparently, the company Skoda has decided to expand the line of RS models, not due to the long-awaited Fabia RS, but due to the charged version of the compact crossover Skoda Kodiaq.
Press service of the company Skoda published the first teaser of the upcoming charged version of Kodiaq RS. And officially confirmed information that the car is currently undergoing road tests in the Nurburgring.
We do not have to wait long to see the serial version of the cross – probably Kodiaq RS debuts in early October as part of the Paris Motor Show. And already in September, you can expect full disclosure of the details and design of the charged Kodiaq.
It is worth noting that now the only representative of the RS line of the company – Octavia RS – is equipped with gasoline and diesel engines. However, the Kodiaq RS will only be equipped with TDI diesel engines. It is also assumed that the car without alternative will be equipped with a proprietary all-wheel drive system.
Thus, under the hood of the forthcoming novelty will be installed turbo diesel engine 2.0 liters, working in pairs only with a robotic transmission with a double clutch. And the sports sedan still has complete sets with manual tranmission. Despite the fact that fans of the company and sports modifications are outraged by the lack of a mechanical transmission, the popularity of the crossover will not affect this.
Also foreign journalists noted that the Skoda Kodiaq RS will be offered both in the five- and seven-seater version of the salon. This will significantly increase the target audience.
Later, the lineup of Skoda RS will be replenished with the Superb RS flagship sedan, and in 2020 the long-awaited hatchback Fabia RS, which will be performed in a new generation, will finally be presented and will receive a hybrid system.
Unfortunately, the cost and the date of the start of the implementation of the new version of the crossover have not yet been reported. You can expect that in Russia the car will appear only in the second half of 2019.
Earlier we already wrote that the Skoda Kodiaq vRS already passes the full tests on the Nürburgring ring, equipped with a two-liter turbodiesel for 240 “horses”
