The Czech crossover was among the five contenders for the prize “Best Car of Europe 2020.”

The first award of the prestigious European Prize took place in 2001. Then the jury included representatives of leading automotive publications from more than 30 European countries. This year, the decision will be made after the final test drives on the former Formula 1 race track in Turkey, November 27 and 28. The winner will be announced in mid-December.

The current jury consists of two women and 29 male journalists representing European countries. The jury members choose three cars from five finalists, in 13 different categories – from exterior and interior design to practical use, technology, environmental friendliness and price. The winner is the car that scored the most points out of 2500 possible points.

Skoda is one of the last major manufacturers to enter the extremely competitive compact SUV segment. The debut of the new Skoda Kamiq took place at the Geneva Motor Show this year. The automaker has promised that the crossover will become one of the most practical and technological cars in its class.

The crossover is 4.24 meters long and offers 400 liters of luggage compartment with the rear row unfolded, while if you fold the second row of seats, the volume increases to 1,395 liters. Skoda appreciates the spaciousness of the cabin, noting that between the back of the passenger sofa and the rear of the front seats is 77 cm.

Thanks to its long body, Kamiq will become one of the most spacious cars in its class. The rear passenger lap space is ideal for the Octavia, and although the 400-liter Kamiq trunk cannot match the 455-liter Renault Captur, its maximum capacity is 1,395 liters.
