SKODA Introduces New Digital Assistant “Okay Laura!”September 25, 2019
Skoda introduced the Digital Assistant in the Kamiq city SUV and compact Scala.
The Czech company introduces the new Digital Assistant. This new, advanced voice control system is named Laura and understands natural speech. As part of the Amundsen infotainment system, it is available for both the new KAMIQ and the compact SCALA. The debut of the new digital assistant strengthens the position of two new brand models as pioneers in the field of infotainment and communication.
In vehicles equipped with the highest-class Amundsen infotainment system, to activate the advanced voice control system, simply say “OK Laura!” Laura recognizes natural speech in six languages with different dialects, so drivers are not limited to a set of pre-programmed commands or phrases.
An upgraded and online-based voice control system can answer a number of questions, obey commands, start navigation, find music or write a dictated SMS message. An integrated eSIM card is standard on the Skoda Kamiq and Scala.
In the future, Laura will be able to control certain functions of the car and even more flexibly respond to completed offers, including a kind of digital conversation. Other advanced voice control applications that may become available later include areas outside the Skoda car, such as mobile and web applications, as well as an online configurator.
