Skoda has prepared a “farewell” version of the crossover Kodiaq RSApril 22, 2020
Auto received a “farewell” performance called the Challenge.
With the “charged” Skoda Kodiaq RS, the audience met in the fall of 2018. Only in the Czech Republic in favor of the RS-version made the choice of 17% of those wishing to purchase Kodiaq. Now it became known that the manufacturer is going to abandon the Kodiaq RS. It’s all about the engine. This is a complex and expensive two-liter BiTDI biturbo diesel engine with a capacity of 240 horsepower. Formally, it corresponds to the current eco-standards, but nevertheless it spoils the average emissions figures for Skoda and the Volkswagen group as a whole.
In addition to Kodiak, such a power plant can be found on Volkswagen Passat, Arteon and Tiguan models. They, too, will soon be left without a biturbo diesel.
Before sending the powerful Kodiaq RS to resign, the brand created a “farewell” special version. Unlike the usual crossover, the Kodiaq RS Challenge gets a richer set of options: 3-zone climate control, electric front seats, all-round cameras, etc. You can purchase the Challenge version in the Czech Republic. Its cost starts from 1.4 million kroons or 50,900 euros. In total, 300 such crossovers will be released. “Hot” Kodiaq may reappear in the 2021st, but with a different power plant – a gasoline engine or a hybrid.
