Skoda has patented the name for the new compact crossoverApril 23, 2020
According to the latest data, it became known that a patent for the trade name Kliq was published in the database of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of India.
Experts suggest that the name was sent for the new crossover of the brand, the debut of which took place at the beginning of this year. This assumption has good reason. So, for example, the name of almost all Volkswagen SUVs begins with the letter T, Skoda naming has a more complicated approach, namely: the names begin with the letter K and end with Q. Another reason for this is that the name can reflect the philosophy of the crossover, this is the maximum digitalization.
Note that Skoda Kliq is created on the basis of the modular platform MQB, namely on its budget version A0. The development of new items takes place in India, its assembly is expected to be established there. Later, the car will be exported from India, but the geography of its deliveries was not disclosed. The motor range of the car will include TSI petrol units of 1.0 and 1.5 liters, the power of which is 110 and 150 hp. respectively. The first engine will work together with a 6-speed manual transmission or with an “automatic”, and the second with a 7-speed “robot”.
