Skoda has announced a new generation of the Fabia modelSeptember 25, 2020
Skoda’s new CEO Thomas Schaefer has announced the next generation of the Fabia, saying that the updated model will appear in 2021.
Schaefer did not disclose any details about the upcoming new product, noting only that “it will become a great car.” It is assumed that the updated subcompact hatchback will be built on the MQB A0 platform, which, in particular, underlies such cars as the VW Polo, SEAT Ibiza and Audi A1.
Knowing the architecture of the future novelty, one can expect that its engine range will include gasoline units: perhaps we are talking about an atmospheric engine and a 1.0-liter turbo engine. As a transmission, they will offer 5- and 6-speed manual transmissions, as well as a 7-speed automatic transmission with two clutches. In addition, the novelty in the future may receive a hybrid variation.
It is expected that the new generation Fabia will be larger and more spacious than its own competitors, while at an affordable cost.
In addition, it was recently noted that Skoda Octavia was equipped with a 1.0-liter engine. It should be emphasized that the fourth generation Octavia offers a wide range of powertrains on the European market.
