Skoda Fabia: how the hatch changedMarch 7, 2018
Skoda Fabia managed to change the generation. And now also has undergone restyling: the updated car has received new light-emitting diode optics, the changed cowl and optional 18-inch wheel disks.
If the changes in appearance can be called retouching, then the modernization of the interior was much more profound. The hatchback received an updated dashboard (including optional digital), some other driver’s and passenger’s seats, as well as a new multimedia system with a 6.5-inch touchscreen display. In addition, the modernized infotainment system integrates support for Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and MirrorLink protocols.
Several new active and passive safety systems also became available on Fabia. In particular, the updated hatchback can be equipped with the function of monitoring the “blind” zones, an emergency braking system and warning of a dangerous rapprochement with other vehicles, as well as an automatic parking man.
But the most interesting changes occurred with a range of powertrains. In the model line, there are no diesel modifications left. Restyling machine will be equipped with only one-liter three-cylinder petrol engine. Blowing and direct injection allow you to offer it with three degrees of boost: 60, 75 and 110 horsepower. Combine with this motor can both a manual transmission and a automatic DSG with two clutches.
In Skoda also plan to revive the compact hot hatty Fabia RS. However, such a modification is likely to appear already in the next generation of the model. Moreover, the Czechs do not exclude that it will receive a hybrid power unit consisting of a gasoline engine and an electric motor.
