Skoda Enyaq GT coupe-like crossover spotted on testsSeptember 7, 2020
Photos with a test prototype of the electric crossover Enyaq from Skoda, which received a coupe-like body, appeared on the Web. It is expected that the debut of new items is expected in November this year.
journalists published photos from tests of a prototype coupe-like crossover Enyaq. The official name of the model is currently unknown, but according to rumors, the new product will be called the Enyaq GT. Czech Skoda did not say that their first-ever electric crossover will receive a coupe-like version, so these “spy” shots came as a surprise.
The Enyaq GT should look pretty much the same as the regular version of the electric crossover, right down to the B-pillar, with the biggest changes going to the rear, where there will be a more sloping roofline ending in a sportier rear.
You can already see that the size of the cabin is slightly smaller due to the steep roof. There is also no rear spoiler.
A coupé-style roof can improve the look of the crossover, but it probably hurts practicality by eating up the headroom of the rear passengers.
Like all existing electric models of the German concern VW AG, which includes the Czech company, the Enyaq GT will be built on the basis of the MEB modular platform, designed specifically for electric vehicles.
The official premiere of the new item is scheduled for November, which makes sense considering that these prototypes looked almost ready to debut. You will notice that one of the test cars did not have a rear wiper and this gave it a cleaner rear end design at the expense of practicality, as this wiper might come in handy on a rainy day.
