Skoda cars will appear in Sri Lanka soonFebruary 20, 2020
The Czech automaker will open a central showroom and point of sale in the capital Colombo in May 2020.
Skoda continues to expand its global markets and will soon be officially represented in Sri Lanka. At the start of sales, the lineup of the brand will be represented by 4 models.
“Further internationalization of our brand and the conquest of new markets are the central areas of activity set forth in the Skoda-2025 Strategy. We are taking the next step in strengthening Skoda’s position worldwide, ”says the press service of the brand to the words of Skoda Auto CEO Bernhard Meyer.
After 17 years, Skoda Auto returns to Sri Lanka: in May 2020, the automaker intends to open the Central Exhibition Hall and dealership in Colombo, the capital of the island nation, located near the southern point of India. Skoda Auto will partner with IWS Automobiles (Pvt) Ltd as an importer and trading partner.
The initial residents of the country will be available four models: the Fabia compact car, the premium Superb, the large Kodiaq SUV and the compact Karoq. The brand’s bestseller, the Octavia, will expand its range of models later this year. Customers can order the first cars from the beginning of March 2020, and the first deliveries will begin when a new exhibition hall opens. This will happen in May.
