Autobest, Europe’s largest group of independent automotive experts, has awarded Skoda the prestigious COMPANYBEST 2020.

The jury noted the impressive dynamics of the Czech brand’s development in international markets and the successful implementation of innovative solutions in production. In addition to the dProduction digital notification system at the Kvasiny plant, the experts evaluated the modernization of the Mlada Boleslav plant, where vehicles based on the MQB and MEB platforms are produced simultaneously on the same assembly line. In addition, the Skoda Octavia, the brand’s global bestseller, became one of the finalists in the Best Buy Car of Europe in 2021 competition.

Skoda won the Autobest award for the best company in 2020. An independent jury of journalists from 31 countries evaluated, among other achievements, the significant increase in the brand’s market share and sales dynamics worldwide. The experts also noted the attractive design of the ┼áKODA models, the many solutions aimed at customer comfort, the practical Simply Clever functions and technological innovation.

Skoda also won the jury with its intelligent production concept. For example, the company uses the most flexible approach at the plant in Mlada Boleslav, where it simultaneously produces the Enyaq iV electric car, based on the MEB modular electrical architecture, as well as the Octavia and Karoq models on the MQB platform, on the same assembly line. In addition, the experts were impressed by the dProduction digital notification system implemented at the Kvasiny plant, which helps personnel at all stages of production, warns of changes in processes and controls quality.

The new Skoda Octavia will take part in comparative tests during the final part of the competition “The best car in Europe in 2021 on sale”. The winner will be announced in mid-December.

Russia became the second country in the world, after the Czech Republic, where the local assembly of the new Skoda Octavia began. The start of sales of the model took place in November, and from December 5, open days will be held in dealerships. Russian customers will be able to get to know the new product better, get answers to their questions, and also take a test drive with the whole family.

Last year, Skoda was honored with the SMARTBEST award for Laura, a digital assistant built into the company’s cars, which was recognized as Innovation of the Year and beat all competitors in the field of communication between driver and artificial intelligence.
