Skoda announced the premiere of a new compact crossover

Skoda will bring to the auto show in Geneva a new compact crossover, which in the model range will take place below Karoq and Kodiaq

Skoda has published the first teaser image and a short video of its new compact crossover. According to the Czech brand, the premiere of the car will be held in March at the Geneva Motor Show. In the model range of the Czech brand car will take place below Karoq and Kodiaq.

The design of the car will resemble the concept of Vision X. The novelty will receive LED headlights with daytime running lights in the upper part and integrated dynamic direction indicators.

Compact crossover built on the platform MQB A0. This chassis is already the basis of a number of compact and mid-size cars: from the new Volkswagen Polo to the crossover Skoda Kodiaq. Skoda also reports that the model will receive “the most advanced driver assistance systems” (without specifying which ones) and a number of solutions from the Simply Clever brand. All other information about the car, including its name, is still kept secret.

According to unofficial data, the 1.0-liter gasoline engine with three cylinders will be included in the range of engines. Power unit will be 100 and 120 horsepower. Also, customers will be offered a 1.5-liter four-cylinder turbo engine with a return of 150 horsepower. You can buy a car with a 1.6-liter diesel engine. Official confirmation of this information yet.

Earlier it was reported that the car can go on sale under the name Kosmiq. As for the prototype Skoda Vision X, it was equipped with a hybrid power plant, which was based on a 1.5-liter four-cylinder turbo engine running on natural gas. The unit produces 130 l. with. and 250 Nm of torque.

According to preliminary data, the serial crossover can get the name Kosmiq. This name has already been registered by the manufacturer in the Czech Patent Office.
