The Czech brand summed up the results of 2017 and shared plans for the near future.

As stated in Skoda, last year was the most successful in the history of the company. In 2017, around the world, 1,200 500 Czech brand cars were sold, up 6.6% compared to 2016. Revenues Skoda in the past year increased by 20.8% and reached a mark of 16.6 billion euros. Operating profit increased to 1.6 billion euros (+ 34.6%).

The largest market for Skoda was again China: in 2017 there were sold 325,000 brand cars. In the top 10 countries in which Škoda is in high demand, Germany also included: Germany (173,300), Czech Republic (95,000), Great Britain (80,100), Poland (66,600 vehicles), France (27,300) , Turkey (25,000 units), Italy (24,700 cars) and Austria (24,300 units).

In the next two years, the brand plans to release 19 new models, some of them will be aimed at the main market for Skoda – that is, in the Middle Kingdom. According to preliminary data, already in 2018 in this country will debut a cross-version of Kodiaq and an inexpensive compact crossover. The last SUV “lit up” on the web in January: the base of the Ministry of Industry of China appeared photos of this model. It is expected that the cross will receive the name Kamiq.

In 2019, a global SUV will be introduced, created based on the Geneva concept Vision X. In the line of the brand, it will be a step below the Karoq. Probably, the commodity SUV will almost completely retain the design of the prototype.

Also in the next year on the conveyor will be the first electric Skoda (electric installation will receive a compact Citigo) and a rechargeable hybrid version of the liftback Superb. And in 2020, the brand intends to launch an electric crossover with a design in the style of last year’s concept – cross coupe Vision E.
