Shows the world’s first hydrogen luxury sedanOctober 2, 2020
The Hydrogen Motive Company (HMC) plans to establish itself as a European leader in hydrogen technology.
The Hopium Machina sedan, called the world’s first luxury car to receive a fuel cell powertrain, will help win the lead.
The first HMC video showed the 4-door with original optics, air vents in the front and aft, swollen wheel arches and a sweeping profile. As Lombard noted, Machina is a real technological breakthrough.
Details about the engine of the novelty are not disclosed at the moment, in addition to performance – 500 hp. It is assumed that the new model will be able to cover a distance of up to 1000 km on a single charge. In addition, the car must acquire modern “communication, safety and ergonomics systems”, as well as an interior with an exclusive design.
The presentation of the debut concept should take place within a year. As for the serial production of the novelty, it should start by 2026. Machina will be assembled at a French enterprise, and plans to bring the model to the Chinese, European, Japanese, Korean and American markets.
In addition, it was recently noted that a full-size VW Phideon 2021 sedan was demonstrated in China. It should be emphasized that the new product of the German company received not very many improvements compared to its predecessor.
