Shown a sedan built on the basis of a pickup Ford
January 8, 2021The Drive agency recalled the sedan, which was built on the basis of the Ford F-250 Super Duty pickup truck.
This was done by the Brazilian company Tropical Cabines. The first copy was presented in 2001, in turn, the pictures show the 2007 model.
The conversion process involved removing the loading platform, leaving only the chassis cabin and then refitting it with the finished body structures. The front part remained the same, and the feed was borrowed from existing sedans. The interior was practically not affected by the changes.
For the most part, the specialists of the Brazilian company managed to adjust the rear end so that the sedan body seemed solid, but rather unusual. As for the engines of the unique car, they passed to it from the American pickup. That is, the car could be equipped with a 3.9-liter Cummins B-series diesel engine and a 4.2-liter diesel engine.
But, apparently, sedans based on the F-250 Super Duty have not enjoyed sufficient popularity, given the fact that the Brazilian company has stopped doing such a redesign since 2015.
In addition, some time ago it was noted that the American company Ford is preparing for the premiere of a new crossover. It should be emphasized that the PRC will become the main market for the new car of the American company. At the same time, it is quite possible that in the future the model will appear in South America.
