Shaquille O’Neal barely climbed into Tesla Model SSeptember 1, 2020
Almost five-meter liftback turned out to be too small for an NBA legend
American basketball player Shaquille O’Neill, 2.16 meters tall and weighing 147 kilograms, decided to ride a Tesla Model S electric car. Despite the fact that the athlete chose a passenger seat, where the steering wheel did not interfere with him, it took a long time to fit into the car.
A video showing O’Neill’s successful attempt to get into Tesla appeared in the TikTok account of the owner of the electric car, tony_bluechips44. The height of the liftback turned out to be sufficient, but the length let us down: the athlete clearly did not have enough legroom, which he had to rearrange with his hands.
“Elon, would you like to make a Tesla for the big boys?” – O’Neill turned to the head of the company, Elon Musk.
The Tesla Model S is 4970 millimeters long, 1964 millimeters wide, and 1435 millimeters high. In the top Performance version, updated in April, the electric car accelerates from zero to 97 kilometers per hour in 2.3 seconds – faster than the Bugatti Chiron.
Perhaps, from the Tesla lineup, O’Neill would be more suitable for a Cybertruck pickup with a body length of 5885 millimeters, but he will have to wait at least until the end of 2021. In addition, a pickup may not be allowed on public roads – including due to its gigantic size.
Probably, the 48-year-old basketball player has long developed the ability to fit into cars, most of which are “small” for him. Last year, he managed to squeeze into one of the smallest cars in the world – the two-seater Smart.
