Several other Volkswagen employees accused of involvement in dieselgateSeptember 24, 2020
Today, the prosecutor’s office in Germany has accused eight more Volkswagen employees of involvement in dieselgate.
On September 23, the German prosecutor’s office filed charges of participation in the “dieselgate” against eight more people. They are accused of fraud, forgery of documents, as well as tax evasion and aiding fraudsters. The names and titles of the accused were not disclosed.
The trial of the former head of Audi Rupert Stadler will begin next week. Earlier, the German prosecutor’s office accused a number of Volkswagen group leaders of forgery and concealment of fraudulent schemes with indicators of harmful emissions into the atmosphere of some diesel models of the brand.
Recall that in 2015 a scandal erupted in the United States, which was called “dieselgate”. Then one of the institutes was tasked with investigating the behavior of Volkswagen diesel models on the go. In the course of the study, it turned out that the car is equipped with special software, which detects that the car is on the stand and artificially reduces emissions.
