Serial production of the new Suzuki Jimny beganMay 28, 2018
A small SUV of the fourth generation should enter the market before the end of this year.
Back in 2017, the network posted photos of the new Jimny, made at the Japanese plant Suzuki. In those pictures, pre-series copies from the test batch were imprinted. Now, there are footage proving that a mass production of a new, already fourth generation model was launched in Japan.
So, on the page jimnygrams in Instagram there were photos on which we see several dozens of trucks in the factory parking lot. The blog claims that on the site there are cars intended for the home market: such off-road vehicles are equipped with a 660-cubic-cc gasoline engine – this allows the model to fit into the class of key cars. Probably, Suzuki will soon announce the start of sales of new items in Japan. In other markets, the model should be released before the end of this year.
Officially, the new Jimny is not yet available. However, the design of the “Japanese” is no longer a secret – in the past year, photos of the slides of the presentation dedicated to the SUV have been published. The exterior of the model was made in the style of Mercedes-Benz G-Class, in the cabin installed another front panel and a modern multimedia system with a large touch screen.
It is assumed that the three-door car retained the frame structure and the continuous rear axle. Outside of Japan, the new Jimny is likely to be offered with a gasoline-powered four 1.2 Dualjet (90 hp) and a 3-cylinder turbo 1.0 Boosterjet (111 hp). The drive is only full.
Recall that the previous Jimny production was discontinued in February 2018.
