The concept Leaf Nismo debuted in the fall of 2018, the car was shown at an exhibition in Tokyo. The serial version almost completely repeats the last year’s prototype. Externally from the standard model, the electromech in the Nismo version features more aggressive bumpers with a diffuser at the rear, the presence of LED strips of daytime running lights, aluminum 18-inch wheels and Continental ContiSportContact tires 5. As stated in Nissan, the aerodynamic study of the new body kit allowed to increase the clamping force of the hatch. In the salon Leaf Nismo – red decorative elements and decoration “under the carbon”.

The hot electric hatcher got new shock absorbers, the power steering and the stabilization system were reconfigured. Also, the accelerator pedal received a more sharp tuning. But the power of Leaf Nismo did not add: like the standard hatch, the new version is equipped with a 150-horsepower electric motor and a battery with a capacity of 40 kWh. The first 100 km/h front-wheel-drive electric car will pick up in 7.9 seconds, the maximum speed is 144 km / h, the reserve range is 400 kilometers along the Japanese cycle JC08 (according to the European cycle NEDC – 378 kilometers).

In Japan, the launch of sales of Nissan Leaf Nismo is scheduled for July 31. The “sports” version will be the most expensive in the line of the model: the price starts at a mark of 4 032 700 yen. The standard Leaf on the home market costs 3,150,360 – 3,990,600 yen.

While the hot Leaf will be available only in Japan, however, some other Nismo models are sold outside of this country, so that an electric hatcher with such an attachment has all chances to appear on the global market. Recall, in addition to Leaf, the portfolio of the sports unit also includes: hatch March (Micra previous generation), compact Note, minivan Serena, coupe 370Z and sports car GT-R, crossover Juke and sedan Sentra.
