Serial Genesis GV70 showed on new spy photosAugust 11, 2020
The premium brand Genesis already has the GV80 crossover. Very soon, he will be accompanied by the smaller Genesis GV70 SUV. In the meantime, the novelty is being actively tested. One of these races took place at the sight of spy cameras.
Serial Genesis GV70, securely hidden under a dense “camouflage”, was captured during the next test drive. The pictures are published by the GV70 Club forum.
Despite the total disguise, thanks to these photos, it is still possible to get an idea of the optics of the brand’s second crossover and its exhaust system. So, in the pictures we do not see a vertically located pentagonal muffler, and only a black mesh flaunts in place of the pipes.
If we recall the new diesel GV80 and G80, then the exhaust pipes can be directed downward. Such a comparison gives us the right to assume that the photo spies “caught” the diesel Genesis GV70. As for the taillights, the part of them that can be seen refers to the headlights of the Genesis GV80 and G80.
Recall that the compact GV70 after its market debut will have to compete with the German models Audi Q5, BMW X3 and Mercedes GLC. The “senior” crossover G80 will share the motor line with the novelty. These are petrol engines of 2.5 and 3.5 liters, producing 304 and 380 hp. respectively, as well as a 2.2-liter diesel engine with a capacity of 210 hp. There is no information about transmissions. It is not excluded that the brand will equip the novelty with the 8-speed automatic transmission, well-known to fans of Genesis and Hyundai.
The novelty will reach the conveyor in October. So the premiere of Genesis GV70 may well be organized before the end of November. This time frame may be adjusted due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The new SUV is launched in the home market and then exported to Europe, the Middle East, Canada and the United States. Over time, Genesis may bring the electric GV70 to the market.
