The first commodity electric car of the British brand will make its debut this week.
Presentation of the electric SUV Jaguar I-Pace will be held on March 1 this year, and the public premiere of the novelty will be held a week later at the Geneva Motor Show. Before the debut of the commodity crossover the brand was distributed by its official teaser. The characteristics are still kept secret.
It is expected that the externally serial I-Pace will not practically differ from the same-name concept presented in 2016. The power plant of the electric car will most likely also be taken from the prototype.
Recall, the concept is equipped with two electric motors with a total return of 400 hp. (700 Nm) and a lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 90 kWh (Jaguar’s own development). The first 100 km/h it accelerate in about 4 seconds, the power reserve – 500 km. In Jaguar, it is promised that with the device for accelerated charging, the serial crossover can be “refueled” by 80% in just 45 minutes.
Production of I-Pace started in the summer of 2017: the SUV is assembled at the Magna Steyr plant in Austrian Graz. The main competitors of the novelty will be Tesla Model X, future Mercedes EQ and Audi e-tron. By the way, the serial Germans cars will also make their debut this year.
Applications for the Jaguar I-Pace are also accepted from 2017. In the company noted that at the moment SUV reserved “thousands” of customers. And the prices have not been officially announced yet – they will be called on the day of the premiere, also the date of the start of sales.
