SEMA showcases new Challenger Drag PakNovember 6, 2019
Mopar and Dodge jointly developed the fourth generation of the Challenger Drag Pak to compete in competitions sponsored by the National Hot Rod Association (NHRA) and the National Muscle Car Association (NMCA).
The 2020 Mopar Dodge Challenger Drag Pak is powered by a 5.8-liter V8 turbo engine, with which a 3-speed T400 transmission with a Kwik-Shift manual switch operates. Other features include a lightweight driveshaft, front and rear racing brakes, Racetech seats, a fully programmable Racepak Smartwire performance distribution center and a new unique Drag Pak wheel and tire set.
The Challenger Drag Pak 2020 has an SFI-specification welded frame. In addition, the machine has adaptive shock absorbers and a stabilizer bar. Bilstein special double adjustable struts are used in front of the car, as well as an exclusive motor cross member that lowers the center of gravity and improves mass distribution.
Outwardly, the novelty resembles a road Hellcat: it has intake air intakes on the hood and similar front and rear panels. In addition, the car has acquired a new livery, paying tribute to cars of the 1970s, with red, white and blue color palette.
The Mopar also has a blue logo and a red Drag Pak badge on the side panels above the rear wheels. Mopar Dodge Challenger Drag Pak will be released in the amount of only 50 copies, and its price will be announced later.
