Segway for the lazy: the company introduced a chair on wheelsJanuary 7, 2020
Segway brought another two-wheeled novelty to CES. In a chair that evokes associations with the film “Jurassic World” and the cartoon “WALL I”, you do not even need to bend over to indicate the direction of movement.
Segway Ninebot presented its vision of personal transportation for those who are not suitable for electric scooters, gyro scooters or motorized rollers – a comfortable S-Pod chair. Like other Segway two-wheeled products, the chair is self-balancing, and at the same time it sprightly accelerates to 36 km / h.
According to Business Insider, the creators of S-Pod said they were inspired by the gyrospheres from the movie Jurassic World. But it also provokes another clear association: with armchairs from the WALL I cartoon, in which the fattened inhabitants of the spacecraft moved.
As conceived by Segway, S-Bot is ideal for areas where the movement of other vehicles is limited: airports, amusement parks, large shopping centers.
To control the S-Bot, a navigation tablet is used, on which you need to indicate the direction of movement. The two-wheel design makes the chair very maneuverable. And the tablet can be removed to control the chair remotely.
S-Bot will be shown at the CES Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, which opens January 7th. Up to this point, the price and date of sales of a self-propelled seat is not called.
In addition to the S-Bot, the Segway-Ninebot displays at its booth the Kickscooter Air T15 electric scooter with the Smart Kick System, a smart start system: it is enough to push off once and the electronics will catch you.
