Seen a prototype of the crossover Volkswagen T-Roc CabrioJune 20, 2019
The ever-growing model range of the German Volkswagen brand will soon be expanded with a new gig. The new model is not a typical two-door coupe, in which the roof can be folded and unfolded. Instead, we will be presented with a convertible version of the compact VW T-Roc crossover.
We first noticed the prototype T-Roc Cabrio in October last year, and since then it has been seen several times. Why Volkswagen decided to make its compact crossover heavier (hiding / unfolding mechanism) and less practical, a mystery to us. However, large, multinational, multi-billion dollar companies do not make rash decisions, even if the company has recognized that the new product does not make sense. Now we have a new but short video camouflaged by the Volkswagen T-Roc Cabrio.
We can see a strongly disguised prototype of the T-Roc Cabrio crossover, which has not yet seen all the changes. But you can be sure that the number of changes that the standard T-Roc had to undergo in order to become a two-door convertible was to be huge.
The roof of the seen crossover seems to be noticeably shorter, and in the back of the car you can see the cover of a special compartment, where the roof will be removed. I must say that this car looks very funny!
I note that crossovers in the convertible version are no longer a new phenomenon. A convertible is a great car, but if it is also a tall car, it looks very strange. But sales of sedans continue to fall, and automakers will have no choice but to “cut off” the roof of the popular crossovers. If the T-Roc Cabrio is popular enough, expect other companies to create similar models.
