See what a Corvette crossover might look likeJune 29, 2019
It turns out that if you cross a Chevrolet Corvette and a Lamborghini Urus, you get a rather unexpected result.
Former GM vice-president Bob Lutz recently said that Chevrolet is definitely worth highlighting the Corvette as an independent brand and launching a sports crossover under it. While top managers are thinking about this, enthusiasts have already imagined how this car could look.
In an interview with Automotive News, Bob Lutz said that the name Corvette has such charisma and potential that it could easily become an independent brand, and a sports crossover, released under his wing, could easily compete with even Lamborghini Urus. The famous manager, who led such brands as BMW, Chrysler, Ford and was the vice-president of the concern General Motors, sees excellent prospects in the Corvette.
For success in the market, the Chevrolet Corvette crossover, Lutz argues, should cost at least 100 thousand dollars, and its circulation should be limited to 20-30 thousand copies. Under the hood should, of course, be a multi-liter American V8. Such a step, says the former top manager, would have been much more useful for the image of the Corvette, than the unprecedented transformation of the model into a mid-engined sports car.
While General Motors is digesting the unexpected idea of its ex-vice president, some have tried to imagine what a Corvette would have looked like with increased ground clearance, four doors and a big boot. And artist Kleber Silva even picked it up and drew it, using Lutz’s reference to Lamborghini Urus as a hint. It turned out great: it turns out, the appearance of the Corvette sports car is perfectly combined with the angular design of the Lamborghini.
