Arab sheikh and renowned collector of unusual cars Hamad bin Hamdan Al Nahyan revealed his latest acquisition: a Ram 4500 pickup truck with a 16-foot (4.9 meters) cargo platform.
The black pickup, which the sheikh himself calls the longest in the world, was named “Al-Banush”. To accommodate the giant cargo platform, the Ram’s wheelbase has been stretched to 5207 millimeters. Now the pickup, which looks rather clumsy when driving through desert dunes, can serve as a pool in hot weather.
The Ram, equipped with a 6.7-liter diesel “turbo six”, became part of the exposition of its own museum of al Nahyan, dedicated to the history of SUVs.
The museum’s extensive collection, including classic models as well as insane trucks and monster trucks, brought the sheikh an entry in the Guinness Book of Records: he was recognized as the owner of the largest number of four-wheel drive vehicles in the world.
Last year, the 11-meter Dhabiyan five-axle SUV, built on the basis of an American military tractor, was among the most unusual examples of his collection.
