The Swiss company Zaugg has developed a unique snow blower, which, thanks to its huge “cutting” mechanisms, is able to move 4200 tons of snow per hour. The unique equipment will be sent to work on the railway located on the famous American mountain Pikes Peak.
The size and equipment of the new snow removal equipment resembles post-apocalyptic machines from the Mad Max film series. The snow blower is equipped with four cutting spools with a diameter of 122 cm each. These mechanisms allow you to remove snowdrifts up to three meters deep and up to six meters wide. The machine is capable of handling up to 4,200 tons of snow per hour, throwing it 30 meters from the work area.
The snow blower is currently undergoing its final tests in the Swiss mountains. After their graduation, the car will be sent to work in the American state of Colorado, on the Pikes Peak hill, popular among racers. On the mountain is the old Manitou & Pikes Peak Cog Railway, which, following restoration in 2021, will continue to transport athletes and spectators to the annual Race to the Clouds at 4,200 meters above sea level.
In February last year, the State Line auction house came up with an original way to clear snow from cars. The experts installed an industrial blower on a Volvo excavator, which cleans cars very quickly.
