See how different cars are going on all-season and winter tiresNovember 20, 2018
On the Tire Rack YouTube channel, commercials appeared, which visually show the features of driving on winter and all-season tires on ice. The video compares all-wheel drive and front-wheel drive cars.
The first test is a simulation of the intersection of the intersection with an icy surface. The Toyota RAV4 crossover on all-season tires at the start from the site overcame the 18.2-meter straight in 3.7 seconds, while the car on winter tires took 3.1 seconds. Toyota Camry front-wheel sedans to overcome exactly the same test took 7.31 and 4.34 seconds, respectively.
In the test on the braking on all-season RAV4 stopped at a speed of 19 kilometers per hour for 17.3 meters, and on winter tires – for 10.2 meters, winning more than one car body. Camry in the same conditions stopped for 15.5 and 11.4 meters respectively.
In addition, tests have shown that in a 90-degree turn at a speed of 18 kilometers per hour, the car on winter tires will remain on the trajectory, and on all-seasons it will go outside.
Which tires were used for testing is not specified. Judging by the roller, it was Yokohama tires.
