Sedan Nissan Altima ousted TeanaOctober 20, 2018
The name Teana company Nissan uses since 2003, it is familiar to buyers from Asia, Oceania and the CIS. During the existence of the model, three generations have changed. At home of the brand, in Japan, and in Thailand and Indonesia, sales decreased markedly.
In China, the model has very good results. From January to August 2018, the model sold over 74.5 thousand copies, and last year, Chinese motorists bought about 113.3 thousand cars. The North American sedan is known as the Nissan Altima. In total, over the past year, dealers sold almost 255 thousand units, and in the first eight months of the current year – 166.6 thousand cars.
Now the American name “migrated” to the Chinese sedan: Nissan introduced a new generation of Nissan Altima to the People’s Republic of China. This car has some differences from its “overseas” relative, the next generation of which was introduced in the spring of 2018. The car has the same appearance and dimensions, but a different engine line.
So, the base for the Chinese new Nissan Altima is a two-liter gasoline engine with a return of 159 hp, whereas in the USA the car is offered with a 191-horsepower “aspirated” volume of 2.5 liters. In addition, the range has a two-liter “turbo” VC-Turbo with a variable compression ratio of 252 hp.
In size, the model is different from its predecessor. So, its length is 4,901 mm, which is 10 mm more, width – 1,850 mm (20 mm more), height – 1,447 mm (43 mm less). The size of the wheelbase increased by 50 mm to 2 825 mm.
The Chinese will only be available front-wheel drive sedan Nissan Altima, whereas in America there are all-wheel drive versions. The joint venture Dongfeng Nissan will be producing the “four doors” of the new generation for the Chinese market, Teana has previously left its assembly line. Sales of new products in China will start at the end of this year.
