The usual four-door Kia of the C-class of the new generation debuted at the beginning of this year: in Korea it is sold with the K3 index, in the States the sedan is known as Forte. In some markets, the model still has a five-door version, you can buy it where the platform Kia Ceed is not represented. The exception was, in fact, Korea – Sid is not available there, but the K3 hatchback in the brand’s homeland has not been offered lately. But now Kia has decided to expand its line on the home market – the hatch was declassified in September, and today, on October 4, it went on sale, and you can only buy it in the sport version of the GT. At the same time with the “five-door”, the “charged” Kia K3 GT sedan also entered the Korean market.

The exterior features of the four-door GT version are red accents in the grille, painted in black exterior mirror housings and a fin antenna. Also, the sedan received door sills, a black inset on the trunk lid, 18-inch wheels, a diffuser and two tailpipes of the exhaust system appeared at the back. Kia K3 GT is 5 mm lower than the standard model – the height of the new product is 1,435 mm.

Like the Hatch, the GT sedan has a multi-link rear suspension, while the regular four-door has a simple “beam”. More “charged” versions got increased front brakes, a shorter steering mechanism. In the suspension – other springs and stabilizers, shock absorbers Bilstein.

In the salon there are seats with developed lateral support and red stitching, a “truncated” steering wheel, and metal lining on the pedals. In the door embedded panels with lights. The hatchback K3 GT has the same decor.

Both the sedan and the hatch are equipped with the 1.6 T-GDI petrol turbo four with a power of 204 hp, familiar from other models of the Hyundai-Kia concern. However, if the K3 GT hatchback is available only with a seven-speed robotic gearbox with two clutches, then the sedan, in addition to this transmission, is also based on a six-speed manual transmission. Dynamic characteristics of new products in Kia did not reveal. The standard K3 sedan in Korea is offered with an “aspirated” 1.6 (123 hp) new Smart Stream family and a CVT (the Koreans also did not indicate the dynamics of the conventional model).

Later, Kia will introduce the Forte hatchback to other countries. However, it is not yet known whether the global model will have a standard version or the brand, as in Korea, will limit itself to only the “charged” version. Kia is also likely to bring the GT Series sedan to other markets.
