Seat Leon new generation built on the MQB platform from Volkswagen and equipped with a hybrid power plant
Seat started testing the new generation of Leon. Spy photos from the tests were published by Autocar. According to them, the premiere of the serial version of the model will take place next year.
So far, only the test mull is presented in the pictures, on which the company’s engineers roll over the units of the future car. The novelty will be built on the MQB platform from Volkswagen. It is expected that due to this the car will become noticeably larger than its predecessor.
Seat refuses to use diesel engines on the next generation Leon. In this case, customers will be offered a hybrid modification of the car. The power unit will include a 1.5-liter TSI engine and an electric motor. Later the novelty will receive a sports modification Cupra.
In addition, Seat plans to develop a new coupe-like crossover. The car, which will be the first CUV Seat, will be built on a completely new base. The premiere of the novelty is to be held in 2020. In the model line of the Spaniards the car will take place on the level below the big SUV Tarraco, which will premiere in the near future.
