The Spanish company SEAT enters the large European market of crossovers with its model Tarraco. As the representatives of the brand note, the novelty combines the features of the existing compact crossovers Ateca and Arona. It is reported that, depending on the desire of buyers, the SEAT Tarraco can be equipped with a 5- or 7-seat saloon. In addition, the choice will be offered as much as 8 body colors.
Note that the new Tarraco crossover, which got its name from the Spanish city of Tarragona, which in turn is located on the Mediterranean coast, is built on the modernized MQB A + platform. This platform was developed by engineers of the German automobile concern Volkswagen Group, which includes the Spanish automaker SEAT. The length of the novelty is 4 735 mm.
In the interior of the SEAT Tarraco is worth noting the 10.25-inch display, which is located on the dashboard. And in the upper part of the center console is located 8-inch screen infotainment system, by the way, it can recognize the gestures of the driver. In addition, the novelty will receive a whole host of different types of security systems and assistance to the driver.
After the start of sales of the Spanish crossover four power units will be offered. The basic option is a petrol 1.5-liter 4-cylinder engine with a turbocharger of 150 hp, which works with a 6-speed manual transmission and a front-wheel drive. Also, you can order a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine with a turbo-supercharged power of 190 hp. – This power unit is equipped with a four-wheel drive system and a 7-speed transmission with a 2nd clutch. The 2.0-liter turbodiesel is available in power variants of 150 and 190 hp. Both operate with four-wheel drive, but the weaker version is equipped with a 6-speed manual transmission, while a more powerful version will receive a 7-speed DSG.
Also reported and that in the near future, the crossover SEAT Tarraco will receive a hybrid modification. Official sales of new items will start in the European market before the end of this year.
