Scuderia Cameron hypercar to debut in SeptemberAugust 8, 2020
It became known when the 670-horsepower Scuderia Cameron 004S hypercar worth $ 450,000 will be presented.
Previously, it was reported that Scuderia Cameron plans to introduce its new 007 hypercar into the new World Endurance Championship hypercar class, where it will race alongside the racing version of the Toyota GR Supersport concept at Le Mans. A limited number of 007 road legal hypercars will be built to meet the requirements of the racing series.
Before that, we’ll be able to see the long-awaited legal version of another Scuderia Cameron tracked hypercar, Model 004. The road version 004S was announced back in 2017, but now we finally know when it will go into production and how much it will cost.
Scuderia Cameron announced that a prototype of the new hypercar will make its debut at the upcoming 24 Hours of Nürburgring in September. After its premiere, a second prototype will be built specifically for crash tests and demonstration purposes. Production of customer vehicles will begin a month later in October at the company’s Danbury, Connecticut plant. Like the McLaren F1, the 004S will have the driver’s seat in the center. Thanks to the extensive use of carbon fiber in the chassis and body, the 004S weighs just 1,179 kg.
In terms of powerplant, the 004S will be powered by a supercharged 5.0-liter V8 engine, delivering 673 horsepower to the rear wheels via a 6-speed manual transmission from Graziano. Dynamic capabilities and top speed have yet to be confirmed, but it will be clear when the prototype debuts next month.
The production of the Scuderia Cameron 004S is likely to be very limited. Each sample will cost from $ 460,000, and deliveries to consumers will begin at the end of 2021. The customization configurator 004S is already available.
