February 2, 2019 0 By autotimesnews

If last year the full name of the team was listed as Alfa Romeo Sauber F1 Team, now it will be just Alfa Romeo Racing.

The team changed its name last year, when it signed a partnership agreement with an Italian manufacturer. In 2019, it was decided to remove the name of its founder Peter Zauber altogether. The current boss, Frederick Wasser, in a press release from FCA, said that since Alfa Romeo became their title partner, they have made great progress in many areas.

“We have a stimulus for further growth of each participant and team member, because hard work has brought us good results. And we plan to continue in the same spirit, developing every sector of our team. ”

The name going down in history was assigned to the Swiss team since 1993 and did not change even when it was owned by BMW.

Last season, Sauber took the eighth position in the Constructors’ Championship, earning 48 points at the end of the championship. In the season-2019 in the renamed team will be Kimi Raikkonen, who left Ferrari, and Antonio Giovinazzi.
