Sam Bird is getting ready to move to JaguarJuly 11, 2020
Sam Bird, who can be considered one of the most experienced Formula E racers, will replace the team and will play for Jaguar next season. According to The Race, all the conditions for such a transition have already been agreed upon; it should happen after the finale of the electric series, which will be held in Berlin in the first half of August.
Shortly after the completion of the 2019-2020 championship. Sam will take part in the tests as part of the Jaguar and begin preparations for the next one along with his new partner, New Zealander Mitch Evans. And his place in Virgin is pushed to Nick Cassidy, who worked with this team on tests in Marrakesh last March.
For six seasons in Formula E Bird won 8 victories and in 2018 was one of the contenders for the title, which ultimately went to Jean-Eric Verne, while the British rider took third place in the individual standings.
In the factory team of the famous British manufacturer of premium cars, Sam Bird will replace James Calado. The contract should be announced soon, and, apparently, it will be of a long-term nature.
