Ross Brown stood up for HaasApril 8, 2019
The Haas team made its debut in Formula 1 in 2016 and from the first season began to confidently fight for the position in the middle of the peloton. This is partly due to the fact that the American team closely cooperates with Ferrari and buys many of the components of the machine from Scuderia. Some rivals are not enthusiastic about this approach, but the Formula 1 sports director Ross Brown believes that such a model has a right to exist.
Ross Brown: “Haas has an interesting model. They are very successful, and we have to keep it for the future, so that small teams have the opportunity to come to Formula 1 and perform at a good level. However, we can correct something, but I don’t think that after 2021, the model used in Haas will undergo major changes.
We must eliminate the moments that cause concern to other teams associated with the close cooperation of Haas with Ferrari. We must be sure that the boundary of what is permitted is clearly marked and everyone knows what can be done and what is not.
There remain gray areas requiring clarification. Haas has a good model, we don’t want to spoil it, but at the same time we want to make sure that it has a place in Formula 1. ”
