Rolls-Royce wins desert rallyMay 5, 2020
An interesting video appeared with the participation of the Rolls-Royce Cullinan SUV in the American Rebelle Rally.
The appearance of the first ever SUV in the Rolls Royce model line caused a lot of controversy. Many considered this nothing more than a tribute to fashion, but it turned out that this is a really good SUV.
In the USA, many interesting automotive events take place annually. One of them is the Rebelle women’s rally, which will celebrate its 5th anniversary this year. The rally is 2,000 miles (3,218 km) in the states of Nevada and California.
This is a very democratic competition, as only serial cars can take part in them, and no technical alterations are allowed. Cars are divided into two classes – crossovers with a bearing body, as well as frame SUVs and pickups.
The crew of Emmy Hall and Rebecca Donahue took part in last year’s race. They competed in the Rolls Royce crossover category. Having won the rally in 2018 at the Jeep Wrangler Rubicon, they hoped to repeat their success at the Cullinan.
Despite its impressive size and weight, the SUV honorably dealt with sand, dunes and narrow gravel paths. He was assisted in this by the powerful 6.75-liter twin-turbo V12, which develops 571 hp. and 850 Nm of torque, an 8-speed automatic transmission and an all-wheel drive system.
