The company Rolls-Royce announced the beginning of the final stage of tests of the first Cullinan crossover, which will be covered through social networks by National Geographic. A corresponding agreement was reached between the British brand and the American popular science TV channel, the press service of the automaker said.
The campaign, dubbed the “The Final Challenge”, starts on Wednesday, April 4, in the North-Scottish Highlands. Then the cars will visit the Austrian Alps, the deserts of the Middle East, and tests will be completed in the USA. Every day, the National Geographic team will publish a short film and photos of the trials.
The Rolls-Royce Cullinan premiere, which has been under development for the past three years, will take place at a special event in the summer of 2018. The crossover will be built on ultra-light aluminum architecture, which will later form the basis of other models of the British brand.
According to preliminary data, Cullinan will receive the unit from the next-generation Phantom model – a 6.75-liter V12 engine with two turbines, delivering 671 hp and 900 Nm of torque. The engine will work together with the eight-speed automatic ZF and all-wheel drive system.
