Rolls-Royce will release an electric model for ChinaApril 6, 2018
The British company is considering the possibility of producing electric cars due to high demand in some markets, including China
The company Rolls-Royce in the future can develop a model with a fully electric power plant, which will be designed primarily for the Chinese market. This is with reference to the head of the development of electrical aggregates BMW Group Stefan Jurasheka said Automotive News.
“Ultimately, we believe that Rolls-Royce can electrify part of its line because of the high demand for such cars in some markets, including in China,” Jurashek explained. At the same time, the engineer noted that a final decision on this issue has not yet been made.
Last summer Rolls-Royce CEO Thorsten Müller-Otworth said that the British brand will not develop cars with hybrid powerplants. According to him, the company’s customers will not properly perceive the “intermediate” hybrid technology in the transition from internal combustion engines to electric motors.
In 2016, Rolls-Royce introduced the concept car Vision 100, which was designed to give an idea of the future models of the British brand. The prototype was equipped with a fully electric power plant and an automatic control system.
