Rolls-Royce says goodbye to Ghost collectible model releaseAugust 21, 2019
Rolls-Royce introduced a special version of the Ghost sedan called Zenith, which is timed to coincide with the end of the current generation model. Cars will be released in a limited edition of 50 copies.
Cars from the collector’s edition of Zenith are a reference to the 200EX concept car, which was introduced at the Geneva Motor Show in 2009 as a harbinger of the serial Ghost. Rolls-Royce Ghost Zenith received a signature statuette “Spirit of Ecstasy” with a special engraving – the name of the special series.
The main element of the interior was a special logo on the central tunnel with a pattern based on drawings of the 200EX concept. At the same time, each of the 50 unique ingots is made of the molten figurine Spirit of Ecstasy of the famous prototype.
In addition, the 200EX image appeared in complex engraving on the center console – the design was “enlarged for abstraction” according to engineering drawings and divided into 50 elements. Illumination appeared in door pockets with diffused light passing through perforated leather. The doors were finished in marquetry style. In the design of the rear seats used embroidery, giving a reference to the seats of the original model of Silver Ghost in 1907.
The ceiling of the sedan is decorated with “Starry sky” with the effect of a shooting star. To create such an option, more than 1300 optical LED elements are woven manually.
The current generation Rolls-Royce Ghost is equipped with a 6.6-liter V12 engine with 570 horsepower. The sedan is able to accelerate from zero to 100 kph in 4.9 seconds, and its maximum speed is forcibly limited to 250 km per hour.
