Rolls-Royce Phantom received a special version in honor of the grand tourer of the last centuryMarch 7, 2018
Rolls-Royce brought a special version of the Phantom sedan under the name The Gentlemans Tourer to the showroom in Geneva. The novelty was dedicated to the Phantom II Continental Saloon, a grand tourer that appeared in the thirties of the last century. This four-door car was meant for long trips across Europe or America.
The Gentlemans Tourer is painted in a metallic shade of Iced Gunmetal. The choice of this color is connected with the enthusiasm of the customer by modern aviation. The car interior is covered with natural leather of black, gray and anthracite shades. On the doors you can see horizontal inserts of silver, decorating wooden panels. The front panel of the car is finished with steel and ruthenium – this is a rare precious metal that is mined in the world in very limited quantities.
The Sedan Phantom is equipped with a 6.75-liter turbocharged V12 engine. The engine develops 571 hp. and 900 Nm of torque, which is available from 1700 rpm. The power unit is combined with the eight-speed automatic transmission of the company ZF.
The official premiere of the standard version of the new generation sedan took place in September at the Frankfurt Motor Show. The basis of the car was a completely new lightweight architecture based on an aluminum frame, on which the Ghost, Dawn and Wraith models of the next generation will be built, as well as the first crossover of the British brand Cullinan. Thanks to the use of the new design Phantom turned out to be much easier, but at the same time 30% harder than its predecessor.
