Rolls-Royce officially confirmed the name for the first-ever all-wheel drive model with increased cross-country capability. The novelty will retain the same name with which it was announced three years ago – Cullinan.

“We were inspired by the millennial history of the formation of the Cullinan diamond, and this name reveals the nature of the new car. It speaks of endurance and absolute strength under critical conditions. It reflects the brave pioneering spirit of Charles Rolls and the innovative approach of Sir Henry Royce. It embodies the idea of unlimited luxury, rare and precious, that will surround you wherever you go, “said Rolls-Royce CEO Thorsten Müller-Otwos.

The basis for the Rolls-Royce crossover will be the ultralight aluminum architecture, which will later be used on other models of the British brand. According to preliminary data, Cullinan will receive the unit from the next-generation Phantom model – a 6.75-liter V12 engine with two turbines, delivering 671 hp and 900 Nm of torque. The transmission is an eight-speed automatic transmission ZF.

The public premiere of Rolls-Royce Cullinan will take place this summer, but the first buyers will receive the car not earlier than 2019. Prices are not yet named, but it is known that Cullinan will cost less than the Phantom.
