Rolls-Royce cars have lost one of the most popular options in EuropeOctober 12, 2020
According to The Daily Mail, the illuminated Spirit of Ecstasy statuette is no longer available for European Rolls-Royce customers.
From 2016 to the present, the option to illuminate the Spirit of Ecstasy statuette has been one of the most popular among Rolls-Royce car buyers. Moreover, in the UK, this option was estimated at 3.5 thousand pounds sterling.
However, from today, such an option cannot be ordered in Europe. Despite the fact that this option brings a considerable profit to the automaker, it had to be abandoned due to the safety requirements for vehicles in force in the European Union. The regulations spell out the prohibition to install any decorative luminous elements on the front of the car.
Customers who have already ordered the illuminated statuette, but have not yet received their cars, will either receive a refund or replace the statuette with a regular one. And in the already purchased Rolls-Royce cars with the installed luminous statuette, the element will be replaced with a standard silvered one, for which a revocable campaign will be held.
