Rolls-Royce added falling stars and steel fabric to the Wraith interiorMarch 27, 2018
Rolls-Royce Company presented a special series of Wraith coupe called Luminary Collection. A total of 55 such cars will be produced. Each of them will receive a ceiling with “falling stars”, luminous wooden panels and details of the interior of a fabric consisting of woven steel threads.
The construction of special machines was handled by the Rolls-Royce Bespoke division, which specializes in individual customer orders for the brand. Specially for Wraith, the original gray color of Sunburst Gray was developed, inspired by the color gamut of the “golden hour”. Through the body of the compartment is a line that simulates the sun’s rays.
The interior of Rolls-Royce Wraith uses oak veneer with integrated 176 LEDs. According to the company, they should shine like a trail from a falling star. The ceiling of the machine consists of 1340 fiber optic light guides, which are assembled into constellations and symbolize the starry sky. At random, eight meteors flare up on it – it takes about 20 hours to set up the system.
The seats of the front and rear rows of the luxurious coupe are made of leather of different colors: brown in front, anthracite from behind. The insets on the doors and the central tunnel are made from a unique, hand-woven fabric that consists of the finest steel filaments. The diameter of each is 0.08-0.19 millimeters. The fabrication of such a tissue takes three days.
The Rolls-Royce Wraith is equipped with a 6.6-liter twin-turbo V12 engine, whose output is 632 horsepower and 870 Nm of torque. The unit is combined with an eight-speed automatic transmission. Up to 100 km/h coupe is able to accelerate in 4.5 seconds. The maximum speed is 250 kilometers per hour.
