Images of the exterior of the SUV RX8 company Roewe distributed at the end of January. Now the Chinese have shared pictures of the interior of the novelty. The model received a multimedia system with a 10-inch touch screen, its chairs can be upholstered in Nappa leather. Also in the interior decoration used wood, there are many chrome parts. The car will be offered in two- and three-row versions.

The Roewe RX8 is built on the base of the Maxus D90 off-road vehicle (Maxus also owns the SAIC brand), which debuted last year. At the same time, the Roewe novelty appeared to be more compact than the “donor”: the length of the RX8 is 4,923 mm, the width is 1,930 mm, the height is 1,810 mm (with rails – 1,840 mm), the wheelbase is 2,850 mm. For comparison, the dimensions of the Maxus D90: 5 005/1 932/1 875 mm, wheelbase – 2,950 mm. The RX8 has a spar frame, a chassis with a front two-link suspension and a rear axle.

The flagship Roewe is equipped with a petrol turbo engine 2.0 with a power of 224 hp (with the same motor is offered and D90), which is combined with a six-speed automatic transmission Aisin. The all-wheel drive system RX8 has six driving modes, “sharpened” for different road surfaces. Also in the list of equipment of the model included a system of circular video review, a car parker, heating of the steering wheel and seats.

In the Chinese market Roewe RX8 will be released in the first half of the year, its price has not yet been announced. The off-road car Maxus D90 in the Middle Kingdom costs from 156 700 yuan. On the plans of Roewe to sell RX8 outside the home market information yet. Meanwhile, the D90 is available not only in China, but also in Australia.

Recall, the Roewe brand was created by the SAIC concern at the beginning of the XXI century: the Chinese bought out the assets of the bankrupt MG Rover, but they did not get the British brand themselves. So there was a consonant new brand.
