Robot Aiways Carl introduced autonomous charging an electric carApril 17, 2020
It became known that the Chinese automaker Aiways, which is engaged in the production of electric cars, recently patented an intelligent mobile robot in Europe and China.
The main task of the robot is to charge electric vehicles in the parking lot. Masters called this robot Carl. It can have its own battery with a capacity of 30 or 60 kW * h, and is able to recharge the car with any known standard charging port. He charges the electric car in a fairly short time, where it took 50 minutes for 80% of the charge.
According to the automaker, the driver, leaving his electric car in a public parking lot, can call a robot to him through a mobile application. Carl is easy to find a car by GPS coordinates and connects his charging cable to it, then after charging is completed, he returns to his base station. “From now on, charging will look for the driver, and not him,” commented the vice president of international operations of the company commented on the main idea of the technology.
